Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing after your journey and preparing for your safari adventure. Overnight in Arusha.

After breakfast, transfer to Arusha Airport for your flight to Kogatende Airstrip in the Northern Serengeti. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your safari guide and embark on your first game drive in the Northern Serengeti. This area is renowned for its large herds of wildebeest and zebras during the Great Migration. Enjoy your first encounters with the incredible wildlife and stunning landscapes. Overnight at a lodge or tented camp in the Northern Serengeti.

Spend the entire day exploring the Northern Serengeti. This region is famous for river crossings of the Mara River, where you might witness the dramatic scenes of wildebeest and zebra braving the crocodile-infested waters. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, with opportunities to spot predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Overnight at your lodge or tented camp in the Northern Serengeti.

After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in the Northern Serengeti before heading south towards the Central Serengeti. This drive will take you through varied landscapes and offer plenty of wildlife viewing opportunities. Arrive in the Central Serengeti by late afternoon and settle into your accommodation. Overnight at a lodge or tented camp in the Central Serengeti.

Today, explore the Central Serengeti, known for its abundant wildlife and iconic savannah landscapes. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, looking out for the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino) as well as a variety of other animals and bird species. The Central Serengeti is also home to the Seronera River Valley, which attracts many animals year-round. Overnight at your lodge or tented camp in the Central Serengeti.

After breakfast, embark on a game drive as you make your way to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive in the late afternoon and settle into your accommodation. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area offers a unique landscape with the stunning Ngorongoro Crater as its centerpiece.

Early in the morning, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. The crater is home to an incredible concentration of wildlife, including the "Big Five" and many other species. After the game drive, return to your lodge for lunch and then head back to Arusha. Upon arrival in Arusha, you will be transferred to your hotel or directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your incredible Tanzania safari experience.

Our 7-day Great Migration safari package includes accommodation in top-tier lodges and camps, all meals, guided game drives, park entry fees, and internal flights or transfers between safari locations. Additional amenities such as bush walks, sundowner drinks, and cultural visits may also be included.

The Great Migration is a year-round event, but the optimal time to witness the dramatic river crossings is from July to October in the Masai Mara in Kenya. For the calving season, which attracts many predators, January to March in the Serengeti in Tanzania is ideal.

During the Great Migration safari, you can expect to see vast herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles. Additionally, you will likely encounter the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros), as well as cheetahs, hyenas, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species.

Travelers should ensure they have appropriate travel insurance, valid passports, and any necessary visas for entry into Kenya and Tanzania.
