Itinerary
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport where you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. This is a day to relax and recover from your journey. Enjoy the amenities of your hotel and get a good night’s sleep in preparation for your safari adventure. Arusha is a bustling town often considered the gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit.
After an early breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, about a 2-hour journey from Arusha. Tarangire is known for its impressive population of elephants and iconic baobab trees. Spend the day on a game drive, where you can spot not only elephants but also lions, leopards, buffalo, and a variety of antelope. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park before continuing your afternoon game drive. In the evening, retire to your lodge or campsite within the park, enjoying dinner under the African sky.
After an early breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park, driving through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This scenic journey offers opportunities to spot wildlife along the way. Upon entering the Serengeti, embark on an afternoon game drive. The Serengeti is renowned for its endless plains and the spectacular Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebra move in search of fresh grazing. In the evening, arrive at your lodge or campsite in the Serengeti for dinner and overnight stay.
Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti. Begin with an early morning game drive when the wildlife is most active. Return to your lodge or campsite for breakfast and some relaxation before heading out for another game drive in the afternoon. Depending on the time of year, you may witness the Great Migration or see predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas in action. The Serengeti also hosts a variety of other wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, and numerous bird species. Enjoy another night in the heart of the Serengeti, surrounded by the sounds of the wild.
After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of game viewing. The crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera and is home to nearly 25,000 animals. Look out for the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros – as well as numerous other species. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool before continuing your exploration. In the evening, ascend to the crater rim for an overnight stay at a lodge or campsite with stunning views of the crater.
After a morning game drive and breakfast, transfer to the nearest airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival in Zanzibar, transfer to your beach resort. Spend the rest of the day relaxing on the beautiful sandy beaches, enjoying the warm Indian Ocean waters. Overnight at your beach resort.
After breakfast, embark on a half-day tour of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the narrow, winding streets, historical buildings, and vibrant markets. Visit sites such as the House of Wonders, the Old Fort, and the Sultan's Palace. After lunch, enjoy a Spice Tour where you’ll visit a local spice farm to learn about and taste a variety of spices and tropical fruits. Return to your resort in the late afternoon to relax on the beach. Overnight at your beach resort.
Spend your final day in Zanzibar at your leisure. Enjoy the beach, take part in water activities, or visit the local markets for some last-minute shopping. Depending on your flight schedule, transfer to Zanzibar International Airport for your departure flight, concluding your unforgettable Tanzanian safari and Zanzibar beach holiday.
